Sky Team
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Sky Team is a highly-regarded two-player cooperative board game where players take on the roles of a pilot and co-pilot attempting to land a plane. It is widely praised for its tense, engaging gameplay and its limited communication mechanic, which effectively prevents 'quarterbacking' by forcing players to make silent, interlocking decisions.
Pros
- Excellent dedicated 2-player cooperative experience
- Limited communication mechanic creates high tension and prevents one player from dominating
- High replayability due to various airport scenarios and difficulty levels
- Well-designed, recyclable box inserts that facilitate vertical storage
- Relatively easy to learn while still offering tough strategic decisions
- Quick play sessions, often taking less than an hour
Cons
- The 'crash the plane' failure state may be stressful rather than relaxing for some players
- Can be perceived as intimidating for non-gamers or those seeking a very casual experience
Caveats
- The core mechanic relies on 'literally no talking' during specific phases, which is a polarizing style of play
- While overwhelmingly positive, some users find it less engaging, with at least one 'mixed' rating of 6/10
Best for
- Couples looking for a challenging 2-player game
- Fans of 'limited communication' games like The Crew or The Mind
- Players who enjoy thematic, high-stakes cooperative puzzles
Avoid if
- You prefer games with open, constant table talk and collaboration
- You are looking for a low-stress or 'chill' gaming experience
- You primarily need games that support more than two players

We're also really good at cooporative games--we have yet to lose a game of Sky Team.
The problem I have with Sky team (which I love) is that you spend a lot of the time NOT interacting with the other person fully. It's still great, and there's a lot of reading of each other's moves - just wasn't 100% what I expected from a flight crew sim (which is all about communication!) I would still recommend it though!
Sky Team - a co-op game with limited communication where two players assign dice to a special board that mimics operating a plane, including controling your tilt, engines, and communicating with the tower to avoid collision with other planes.

I don't know why they don't just use paper bags like sky team does
Sky Team for co-op definitely
My current favourites in my collection are Ark Nova, Brass Lancashire, On Mars, Rebirth, Sky Team, Heat, Slay The Spire, Dune Imperium Uprising.
After a few plays with my son I absolutely LOVED IT. We had always played “classic” games with the boys when they were growing up but this was something completely new and exciting. This game became the gateway drug to the hobby.
the first two games that got us both addicted were Sky Team and Splendor Duel. Since then, we've been hooked!
10/10 would recommend if you don’t mind feeling self conscious discussing plans between rounds to avoid crashing the plane and killing everyone, or feeling anxious you’ll drop a piece and lose it forever.
