Silicone Gel

Dr Danny Guo recommends silicone gel and massages up to a year after the wounding.

Continue on with the silicone gel, make sure you’re covering it or using sunscreen when you’re outside

Whenever I head out I will apply sunscreen and at night, I will apply 20% vitamin c serum and after waiting for a while, silicone gel.

For the raised or thicker scars, silicone gel can still help over time with softening and flattening. That part just requires patience.

Use the silicone scar gel since it will be easier in that area than tape.

I started using Vaseline and then silicone gel over it every day and still cover it up with a bandaid to reduce extra friction sometimes.

Once it heals, use silicone gel ASAP, it doesn’t work as well as on hypertrophic scars but better than not using at all.
