Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8

Pros

• A whole new world opened up for me with regards to low light performance. I can make great night street photo photography pictures (although I still need to chase the light) and indoor pictures without a flash. ... The 17-40 is also ligh...
• Canon doesn't make any wide aperture APS-C zooms but Sigma has the 17-40 f1.8
• I didnt shoot much video with it, less than five minutes total, but I can say that lens is incredibly sharp for photos. So far, it is the best lens I have used on my R50.
• Sigma 17-40 f1.8? Since you are using gimble, it eliminates the stabilization issue.
• You would probably be better off getting the upcoming sigma 17-40 f1.8 if you are sticking in the 18-40mm range.

Cons

• Sigma 17-40 f1.8 is a prime like zoom lens. It’s expensive though
• If you want to do primarily video, it might not be right though.
• the "new" lens is a used Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 that I found pretty cheap due to the release of the new sigma 17-40 f1.8 (perfect timing lol).
