Scythe (board game)

Pros

• Definitely Scythe. I love it, it’s too complicated for my wife and my other friend doesn’t like it.
• Scythe by Neal Shusterman has a benevolent AI character, Thunderhead, which governs the Earth and has eliminated death, disease, and unhapiness.
• I see some Scythe in thar

• I don’t explain how battles work in Scythe. I just say that the cards and military stat are important, and we’ll cover it when the first battle could become a possibility.

Cons

• It always felt like a point would come in the game where you knew who was going to win long before the game ended and didn't have the tools to interfere much with that person's plans.
• I hate Scythe. I never felt it had much in the way of "take that" though. I didn't like that it was something more akin to a Eurogame rather than the cool mechs and guys on a board getting stuck in to each other.
• Beautiful world. Underneath just optimising a path someone already laid out.
• One of the biggest sins if scythe is that it has hardly any player interaction at all.
• I personally don't enjoy Scythe or Wingspan or Lisboa. And that's fine, even if they are considered classics!
