The Samsung Galaxy S24 is widely regarded as a premier compact flagship, praised for its long-term viability and robust feature set. Users frequently highlight its 7-year software update commitment and lightweight design as standout qualities. While the device is generally well-received, battery performance is a recurring point of debate, with some users praising its optimization and others criticizing its physical capacity compared to larger competitors.
Pros
- 7 years of guaranteed OS and security updates
- Compact and lightweight form factor
- Versatile features including Samsung DeX and reverse wireless charging
- High-quality display and premium aesthetic design
- Strong performance and battery optimization compared to older S-series models
Cons

- Camera processing style is subjective and may not appeal to all users
- Despite being 'compact,' some users still find the dimensions difficult for one-handed use
Caveats
- Battery sentiment is mixed: some users report terrific longevity while others consider it a 'waste' or a bad deal compared to high-capacity rivals
- The camera is technically capable, but users note the 'style' of photos may not be for everyone

Parent context: I’ve read that many people criticize the S24 for its battery(4000 vs 6000), optimization doesn’t seem to help much. The support is definitely a plus for the samsung, but is it worth it for a worse battery? Reply: I have an older s22 ultra with a 5000 watt battery, its optimisation is poor in comparison despite it being bigger. The S24 series performs and uses its battery far better despite it being smaller.
Samsung has good features. Reverse wireless charging so you can charge your watch, earpods or another phone, DEX (external monitor support) customisation, and 7 year support.
I'm certain that the S24 camera is better in all of the more technical aspects described above, but you might just not enjoy the overall style of the photos, which is fair.
Sounds like a you problem. I hardly have any issues with my S24
