Salvinia

Pros

• My 1 gallon shrimp tank has micro sword, Christmas moss, guppy grass, anubias, and some salvinia.
• Rely heavily on floaters like Salvinia to physically block light
• Anubias, salvinia (floater) and amazon swords are also good
• Add easy plants: anubias, java fern, dwarf sag, floaters (salvinia).
• Salvinia is pretty good.

Cons

• if i start seeing singular roots dropping down from the surface i just nuke all the salvinia that should grow there and start again from a singular salvinia thats been thoroughly washed off
• I have to clear out my salvinia and frogbit every two weeks because they block light to the rest of the plants.
• Everything's just looking dull and dying back. Even the salvinia can't recover :(
• Salvinia was all I used at first for a long time, I like the fuzzy texture and detail. Now I only keep it in a floater mix in a lightly dosed CO2 tank. I've stopped using it in multiple low-tech setups because it doesn't thrive like the...
• May want to put one or two on top of the Salvinia just in case but they will figure it out
