AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The RSL Speedwoofer 10s is widely considered a benchmark for value in the home theater community, often described as the 'king' of its price category. It is praised for providing deep, impactful bass that integrates well with speakers, making it a top recommendation for small to medium-sized rooms.
Pros
- Exceptional performance-to-price ratio, often cited as best-in-class for under $600
- Excellent integration with main speakers, providing deep bass without just 'thumping'
- Highly effective for small to medium-sized rooms
- Strong community reputation as a 'budget darling' that punches above its weight
Cons
- Frequently out of stock for extended periods
- Limited low-end power compared to larger 12-inch subwoofers or higher-end models from SVS and HSU
- May struggle to fill very large or open-concept rooms
Caveats
- Availability is a significant issue; users often recommend waiting for restocks rather than buying alternatives
- There is an ongoing community debate regarding whether to buy two 10s units or a single 12s for better coverage
Best for
- Budget-conscious home theater enthusiasts
- Small to medium-sized enclosed rooms
- Users looking for a high-value entry point into quality subwoofers
Avoid if
- You have a very large or open-plan living space that requires more output
- You need a subwoofer immediately and cannot wait for a restock
- You are looking for the absolute lowest frequency extension regardless of price

I had an original plan to buy 5 Kef q150s (~$900) and then an RSL Speedwoofer 10s to fill out the low end.
I've got no actual idea about the room itself, but I do like to say that the RSL Speedwoofer 10s has been amazing for my room and it's open on the left side.
Get the PB-1000 PRO-WAY more low end power in a larger room compared to the RSL 10S.
Sub: [RSL 10E 10" ported Subwoofer] $339 or [RSL 10S 10" ported Subwoofer] $449.
The RSL 10S is a better sub however is currently out of stock.
Something like the RSL 10S: ... A basic sub just thumps and rattles. I have the Speedwoofer 10S mentioned above - life changing. The bass is DEEP but it assimilates perfectly with the speakers
I would buy two RSL 10S rather than one 12S.
RSL - 10e and 10s are the best values around today
Use the extra money on an RSL 10s or a better receiver.
The RSL 10S is the popular budget darling, and it is still 15" wide. And it's a significant step down in performance compared to the SVS and HSU subs I linked above.
