Pros

  • I'll just add suggestions to do leg lifts to build up the hip flexors, get resistance bands to work on abductors and adductors, get sliders to do sliding lateral lunges (among other exercises).
  • Resistance bands (got a set for like $25), use these for upper body stuff, rows, chest press, shoulder work, way more versatile than I expected
  • I bought my current pull up bar 7 years ago, I bought my suspension straps, rings, and a set of resistance bands at the start of the covid lockdowns. I still use them, years later. It was a good investment.
  • And with some resistance bands you can start training pullups.
  • Ever since I bought resistance bands and I started doing seated rows and lat pulldown at home, I gained enough strength and learned how to activate my scapula during a pull up.

Cons

  • Maybe resistance bands but I've not used those so can't speak for em, but others like them.
  • Bands only when your almost ready even then only help at the bottom.
  • As for modifying intensity, bands are okay, but the mostly help you initiate from the bottom position. Most fitness tests require you to get your chin over the bar, in this case bands won’t help as much in this position.
  • I just picked up some resistance bands to help with assisted pull-ups
  • I got resistance bands as the program suggested, but even using all the bands I'm still not able to do them.
