The original is shamelessly cheesy. Leon is an action-movie tough guy who loves one-liners, and the other characters, while simple, play off that energy very well. ... I think the original has one of the more compelling stories in the series. Sure, it's pure camp, but it's some of the best camp there is, and it oozes enough charm to make the game endearing

Resi 4 is one of the best games of all time partly because it's so clearly a super well balanced video game with a dumbass sense of humour.
