Pros

• RATGDO! It’s cheap, pretty straightforward to install, and gives way better control than MyQ ever did
• I’ll 100% echo the recommendation to pick up a RATGDO for each door. They’re cheap, they’re easy to install, and they work beautifully and are far more responsive than MyQ ever was.
• Disable the WiFi and by a ratgdo. That’s what I did.
• Look for Ratgdo. It can even work with older openers as it's really just a relay switch.
• +1 for ratgdo. It can handle direct wiring for simple openers, and is 100% local. It might even be able to calculate the position if the connection exists.

Cons

• With MyQ, you'll need a contact sensor to trigger whatever smart hub you have, unless you have Ratgdo.

• I have a similar gate and when I looked at this even using RATGDO requires additional boards and such for the gate opener, not as straightforward as a garage door opener.
• Gotcha, sounds like you're targeting the market of people that have old garage door openers and also haven't heard of RATGDO
