My families 3 most played games are Azul, Splendor and Carcassone(Quacks of quedlinburg is up there too). All easy to play and yet can be deep.

Something like Quacks of Quedlinburg or Spots, both push your luck games, doesn’t really matter how clever you are, just how lucky you feel despite having elements of strategy.

Quacks is because the original chits the game came with gets worn out fast. The deluxified version, albeit through 3rd party, uses acrylic chits which feels better.

Favourites are: Quest for El Dorado, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Dorfromantik

Quacks and Quest for El Dorado are two of my all time favourite games. When we show them to people new to board gaming they're often blown away by them.

Parent context: Quacks is great, I don't know if it'll be mean enough for OP though. I think it's worth a try for when they want something chill, it's a fun time. Reply: Yeah Quacks will make you rage when you play it, but against the stupid game and the stupid 3 white that was the only one of ten chips in your bag that would bust you but you drew the stupid thing anyway. Not rage against the other players.
