AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

Opinions on the Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream are notably polarized, with users split on its texture and efficacy. While many praise it as a soothing, barrier-strengthening 'Holy Grail' for combination skin or for use alongside tretinoin, a significant number of reviewers report it being either too greasy for oily skin or insufficiently moisturizing for dry skin. There are also several reports of the product causing stinging, redness, or breakouts.

Pros

  • Strengthens the skin barrier and provides soothing panthenol benefits.
  • Formulated without certain fatty alcohols (like cetearyl alcohol) that some users find comedogenic.
  • Gel-cream texture that some users find lightweight and quick-absorbing.
  • Pairs well with active treatments like tretinoin for nighttime recovery.

Cons

  • Can leave a greasy, shiny film or feel heavy on oily skin.
  • Reports of causing breakouts, including forehead acne and closed comedones.
  • May cause stinging or redness, particularly on sensitive or compromised skin.
  • Often described as too lightweight to provide sufficient moisture for very dry skin.

Caveats

  • Contains niacinamide, which can be an irritant for those with specific sensitivities.
  • User experience regarding weight is inconsistent; it is described as both 'lightweight' and 'too heavy' depending on individual skin types.
  • Some users reported it only began to cause burning after several days of continued use.

Best for

  • Combination skin types, especially in tropical or humid climates.
  • Users seeking a barrier-repair cream without common fatty alcohols.
  • Nighttime use to soothe skin after using drying actives.

Avoid if

  • You have a known sensitivity to niacinamide.
  • You have very oily skin and dislike a greasy or shiny finish.
  • You have very dry skin that requires heavy, rich moisturization.
  • You have highly reactive skin prone to stinging from new products.

First off, you are 100% right to stop using the Purito cream. Panthenol is great, but that specific cream is way too heavy for oily skin.

It helps to pair them with something calming that supports your skin barrier like a panthenol cream.

From your skin type it sounds more like dehydration, so something lightweight but barrier-supporting like the Purito oat gel or bamboo cream would probably suit you better

I switched to the purito oat gel for mornings (always using SPF) and I use the purito bamboo panthenol cream at night and my skin feels sooo much better.

So I've recently been trying a skincare routine for the first time in my life but noticed after some days that I got forehead acne that I didn't previously have. The products I'm using are 3. Moisturizer - Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream
