Pros

  • Once the lease is up on my i4, I'm likely going to be buying a used Polestar 2, which was the previous lease I had. I really miss that car.
  • Polestar 2, BMW i4, EV6, Ioniq 5, and many more can be found under $30k.
  • I just paid $11k for this Polestar 2.
  • Which means quality EVs like the Equinox, Mustang Mach E, ID.4, Ioniq 5, EV6, Polestar 2, will be significantly cheaper options in Canada, to name a few.

Cons

  • The car might need 2 to 3 kW of constant power just to keep an acceptable temperature inside the car overnight (I saw up to 5kW for most of a drive in my Polestar 2 at -15C ambient).
  • I have one family member who lives in southern virginia and tried to ridicule my polestar 2 at a family event.
  • I wanted to buy a polestar 2 CPO but I am hesitant, I know sooner or late Polestar will likely roll into Volvo but it is not sure what kind of service and software update we will get.
  • Tried MG4, Omoda E5, BYD Atto 3, Leapmotor 10, Polestar 2, Lexus U300E. Just none grabbed us(her).
  • The have some good things going on; for the P2 for example. -great styling (subjective I know, and I'm a rare one who prefers the grill version) -solid underpinnings, everything is volvo underneath -safety systems are good -Wicked perfo...

The have some good things going on; for the P2 for example. -great styling (subjective I know, and I'm a rare one who prefers the grill version) -solid underpinnings, everything is volvo underneath -safety systems are good -Wicked performance and handling, in the dual motor performance version. -decent battery size and range, gom and Google is super accurate in dynamic mode -decent charging speed, and the port is on the correct side. -Nice interior materials, on higher spec versions. -ok boot space and the hatch design is welcome. -early mover in android automotive and gmaps is great. But then they went and ruined it by making some boneheaded decisions; -The cupholder situation is just, wtf, considering the amount of real estate in the center console. -They crippled the entertainment system with 10yr old intel hardware (especially bad considering they're running android). And it just gets worse with each update. -Software implementation is abysmal overall, tcam resets crashes, rear camera issue etc -Ommision of double glazing -The battery hump in the foot well is an ergonomic nightmare -The car requires cloud connectivity to function at all, you can't set charge levels, timers, charging amps even from within the car without connectivity, wtf. There should be a law against this shit. -Winding setbacks on entry models- wtf man haven't seen this since the 80s, No glass roof, no heat pump (although that doesn't seem to matter much at all) All things that are becoming standard on most new cars in any market -You can clearly see evidence of penny pinching in stupid places: Sun visors not articulable. Makeup mirror doesen't even face the occupant, and is flimsy. cupholder springy bits are fragile. High gloss plastic, yuck Rear seats are surprisingly upright Front seat headrests are too far forward

It doesn't help that the Polestar 2 was behind on day one, and newer models have had rocky launches.

I have a Polestar 2 and the new software update has just made everything worse - slower and less reliable.
