Poco F7
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Poco F7 is widely recognized as a performance-to-price leader, frequently described as a 'beast' for its processing power and battery life in the mid-range segment. While it is highly recommended for users prioritizing raw specs and gaming potential, it faces consistent criticism for its camera performance and software experience compared to competitors. There are also notable concerns regarding thermal management and the lack of specific modern features like e-sim support.
Pros
- Excellent performance-to-price ratio, often outperforming older flagships
- Strong battery life, reportedly double that of some competitors
- High-quality display for its price bracket
- Includes an infrared (IR) emitter
Cons
- Camera quality is considered inferior to Samsung and iPhone alternatives
- Lack of e-sim support
- Software experience is viewed as less polished than OnePlus
- Presence of system ads, specifically noted when changing themes
Caveats
- Reports of overheating issues, particularly with the 8s Gen 4 chipset during heavy multitasking or gaming
- Concerns regarding long-term reliability, including potential heat-related display issues like 'green lines'
- Mixed brand trust among long-term users
Best for
- Budget-conscious users prioritizing raw performance and gaming
- Users who value battery longevity and screen quality over photography
- Those looking for a high-spec alternative to older flagship devices
Avoid if
- High-end camera performance is a top priority
- E-sim functionality is required for your mobile carrier
- You are sensitive to device heat during intensive tasks

Between those two options I would get the Poco F7, similar camera hardware, double the battery, infrared emitter, better connectivity, doubles the performance, released this year (iphone 13 was released 4 years ago). It's actually a no-brainer between these two.
If the budget is around 300-400$ you can get a Poco F7 or OnePlus Nord 5. Poco is more powerful but OnePlus has better software so you gotta pick your poison.
Just had a look and the Poco F7 is looking pretty competitive, but the only thing is that it doesn't have e-sim support which I would like
Also look ror for the poco f7 or x7 pro
I got 2 options, either an iPhone 13(base model) or POCO F7
Anyway Poco F7 camera is a crap comparing to Samsung.
just bought poco f7 the only ads i find from the system is when changing theme (which i would probably never change again)
If you don’t then Poco F7 should be your next best bet.
the F7 to me is best at my budget with okay availability and is the reason I bought it
You can get some good news ones. OnePlus Nord 5, Poco F7, nothing Phone 3a/3a Pro.
