Periodic Notes

Pros

• Plugins: - Periodic Notes - TaskNotes - Templatr - Dataview (though less now that Bases is out) - Iconize - Pixel Banner - Callout Manager
• The backbone of my notes is date-based, using the Periodic Notes and Calendar plugins.
• I use Periodic Notes and the Calendar as a backbone for my journaling and planning, which takes up a large portion of my vault.
• You would probably also find **Periodic Notes**, **Tracker**, and **Meta Bind** to be useful.
• Periodic notes + Templater + a little bit at the bottom of each daily note that says something like: Prev note: Next note: Related notes: And filling that in with backlinks seems to make things pretty awesome.

Cons

• As for OP’s question it was a hack he found that worked with the Periodic Notes plugin. It hasn’t been updated in around four years but the creator is still active with other plugins.
• he replied that he 'thinks' it's Periodic Notes but that plugin hasn't been updated in 4 years and I've never seen that feature.
• For my own workflows, I found it limiting — mainly due to the lack of planning features and weak interlinking/navigation between periods.
• I’ve installed the periodic notes plugin and use the daily and weekly notes for this.
