The Mini MLC is better but rather long for under seat and won’t leave much room for your feet. It is 50.8cm tall and budget airlines are more like 45-40cm length limit. I wouldn’t deliberately choose a bag over 45cm for under seat use in general.
I'll go a step further and say I love the bright color options. Every backpack is black or tan or very dark blue. Our family all has the obnoxious teal color bags with the extra obnoxious safety orange logo. It never gets confused with someone else's and my kid can spot it more easily in a crowd.
