  • The Osprey Fairview 40 is a women’s specific design and has a load transferring harness with adjustable torso length.
  • If you can take higher weight limits, the Fairview 40 has an adjustable load bearing harness for a proper fit and getting most of the weigh on your hips.
  • I have tested them both in the shop and read a lot of reviews. The thing is that I’m quite short and the Fairview feels better to carry.

Parent context: I am a similar height and weight to you and currently backpacking for 12months with the fairview 40 and it is an amazing bag! The hip belt transfer most of the weight onto your hips and is super comfortable to carry around! Just because it is 40L doesn't mean you need to fill it to capacity either. Reply: This is great to know thank you!! Appreciate the insights and wow 12 months sounds so great 😍

If you wanna to have a slightly better main pack and a way superior daypack I'd recommend buying the Osprey Fairview 40 and the Osprey Daylite Plus seperately (that's basically my combo)

The REI Trail 40 XS and Osprey Fairview 40 will both work for a 16” torso.
