Reddit take

AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The OnePlus 15 is widely praised for its exceptional battery life and performance-to-price ratio, making it a favorite for power users and those requiring long-duration standalone use. However, opinions are sharply divided on its camera quality, and some users report significant thermal issues.

Pros

  • Exceptional battery longevity, with reports of lasting over 5 days in power-saving/airplane mode.
  • High value for money, offering flagship-level performance and 16GB RAM at a competitive price point.
  • Fast charging capabilities and a generally clean software experience via OxygenOS.
  • Solid long-term support with a 4+5 year update commitment.

Cons

  • Polarizing camera performance; some users describe photos as looking 'artificial' or inferior to previous models.
  • Frequent reports of the device heating up significantly during use.
  • Lack of an SD card slot for expandable storage.
  • Software update longevity (4+5 years) trails behind the 7-year commitments of major competitors.

Caveats

  • Users have expressed concern over the brand's potential exit from North American and European markets, which may impact future support.
  • Service quality concerns exist in some regions (notably India) due to the brand's closer integration with Oppo.
  • Isolated reports of software updates causing stability issues like bootloops.

Best for

  • Power users prioritizing battery life and fast charging.
  • Budget-conscious flagship seekers.
  • Hikers or travelers who need a phone that can last multiple days without a power bank.

Avoid if

  • Mobile photography is your primary concern.
  • You require expandable storage via SD card.
  • You want the industry-leading 7-year software update guarantee.

Oneplus 15 currently costs 899 euros at 24% VAT. I am sure you could get it cheaper from Poland or Germany.

the op15 doesn't really fit the "software updates" criteria, it doesn't have 7 years of updates like iphones, galaxies, and pixels do, and oxygenos updates aren't exactly known to be the best, my friend's op15 literally got stuck in a bootloop after an update
