Pros

  • If you're solely focusing on still tho, OM-5 is a very solid choice.
  • I'll go for the OM-5 for the more affordable and compact lenses.
  • I think I'd get an OM 1 or 5, whatever is the latest. Great macro cameras
  • There's currently a refurbished OM-5 with a 12-45 f4 on amazon
  • The OM-5 paired with the 14-150 II is the obvious option. It's weather sealed, capable, rugged and lightweight.

Cons

  • An OM-5 ( a camera I’ve considered in the past) is 0.9 pounds /408 grams according to Amazon
  • Parent context: A6400 Reply: yes, I’ve been dwelling on this decision for about a year…I’m worried the OM5 is too big? I just want a camera I can take everywhere.
  • pros: interchangeable lenses / versatile, light/small compared to full frame cons: not sure if there is a specific pancake lens that would fit the needs
  • it looks like the A6400 would be more comparable with the OM-5-
  • The OM-5 looks good but all lenses I've found are too big for my needs.

If you want the smallest possible footprint you might look into m43, something like the OM 5.

The OM-5 is a fairly capable and portable body, the stills are excellent and still very beginner friendly.

Another option would be the OM-5 with the 12-45 f4. It's currently on sale on Kerrisdale for just under 2K. It's also fully weathersealed.

I'd honestly recommend the OM-5 or the E-M5 line, and pair them with a compact primes like the 17mm f1.8 or 20mm f1.7, or a pancake zoom like 14-42 EZ.
