OM System OM-1

Pros
- the om-1 honestly is a lot more feature rich than the sony. (Handheld hi-res, built-in nd filters, subject detection, phase detect af points) It is also more compact overall.
- The OM-1 with the 100-400, along with some other pro lenses will suit your needs perfectly while being very portable in comparison
- My OM-1 survived already shootings (full day outside) in - 15°C. Coldest temperature I used it was in close to - 25°C. Works. Rain? Dosnt matter.
- You need weather sealing: OM-1, OM-1 M2 or the OM-3. Nothing more durable build in this price range. They are like a tank
- The A7C is also quite an old sensor as far as I remember and it has an anti-aliasing filter whereas the OM-1 does not, which will impact overall detail.
Cons
- I agree with the notion that the OM-1 is a solid choice, though it will depend on the shooting environment as well (the OM-1 does poorly here due to rainforest canopy reducing available light greatly)
- For the dynamic range comparison the E-M1II actually has slightly higher dynamic range than the OM-1 which I get the sense is optimised more for readout speed.

the OM-1 dropped in price a lot too, though out of your budget, but it screams. Lenses are also fantastic and fairly priced.
The OM-1 has a much faster processor, improved menus, a modestly better sensor (same resolution, but it's BSI, has better high ISO performance and faster readout speed) and of courrse the grip is better.
The OM-1 is a better fit for what I want, but the OM-5 is much cheaper leaving more money for lenses.
