Pros
- The em 1 would be an upgrade in every way. It's a pro level camera that's 3 years newer than your entry level camera.
- I own an Olympus OM-D E-M1 and it's very well build, and surprisingly compact considering it was the flagship in 2013. One of my favourite parts about MFT is that the cameras and lenses don't feel as much like "tools" as they do "cameras...
- If it were me, I'd lean towards the Oly for its weather sealing, IBIS, and control layout.

- For a walk around point and shoot that you would probably keep, I would go with an Olympus OM-D E-M1 - $260 – Review - superb in-body 5-axis image stabilization and has weather sealing and is freezeproof, splashproof and dustproof.
Cons
- e m1 is lot bigger. same IQ .
- Olympus EM1 is 1080 only also and unfortunately their codecs kinda suck too. Neither has great video autofocus. They're both usable but keep your expectations low.
- Olympus OM-D E-M1 -$279
