Olive Young
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
Olive Young is a prominent Korean beauty retailer frequently cited for its exceptionally fast international shipping compared to competitors like YesStyle and Stylevana. While users value its reliability and direct-from-Korea sourcing, the consensus is that these benefits come with a significant price markup. The brand's reputation is further complicated by reports of poor customer service and inconsistent handling of international customs duties.
Pros
- Significantly faster shipping and delivery times than most other K-beauty retailers
- Reliable order fulfillment with secure packaging
- Direct shipping from South Korea ensures product authenticity
- Relatively low free shipping threshold for US-based customers
- Competitive pricing available when stacking 30% off sales with coupons
Cons
- Higher base prices and significant markups compared to other Asian beauty storefronts
- Customer service is frequently described as rude, unhelpful, or unresponsive
- Does not always handle customs/duties for EU and Canadian shoppers, leading to unexpected fees
- Occasional inaccuracies in website ingredient lists compared to reformulated products received
Caveats
- Customer support has been reported to refuse refunds even when orders are incorrect
- Shipping experiences vary by region, with some users in Mexico and Canada reporting long delays or high duties
Best for
- Shoppers who prioritize speed and reliability over the lowest possible price
- US-based customers who want K-beauty products delivered within a week
Avoid if
- You are shopping on a strict budget and want to avoid markups
- You require high-quality customer support for potential order issues
- You live in a region with strict customs and prefer retailers that pre-calculate duties

yesstyle & stylevana have been only non-eu retailers that deal with customs for me (unlike e.g. olive young).
Olive Young is having a big sale so that was my post dinner activity.
I have purchased from them a handful of times now and always been happy - delivery is quick to the US and their free shipping threshold is pretty low compared to other websites. Yes, they are more expensive than other sites BUT if you catch their 30% off everything sales, and stack with other individual item promos, they end up being cheaper or the same as other sites.
I know I’m blessed (?) to be in Korea where I can try testers at olive young and other stores first, which helps me narrow down what is okay for my skin
Yeah, we were able to purchase non-American sunscreens online and have them shipped from places like YesStyle, Stylevana, Olive Young, and the like until literally yesterday when they put the ban in place, effective immediately.
I would just buy from olive Young for peace of mind they may not have everything that might be in olive young
Olive Young is where to find pretty much everything. Daiso has some too. Lots of samples at OY so you can try it out on your skin.
As for your blackheads and congestion, I would recommend more skincare aka Olive young.
I went to the one at Doota Mall in DDP, but the staff were so uninterested in showing me the aisle, and there were just so many products and people in the store. ... Typically, you want to go online and look up “best sellers” since they’re best sellers for a reason. The workers can only help you so much if you don’t know what brand or your skin type or concerns are.
Korea doesn’t really have drugstores except Olive Young. Have never seen Kundal at Grocery Stores. But Olive Young seems to carry it
