Pros

  • I loved this one.
  • It’s superb 👌
  • And the smoke so good damn miss the ones I had need a new one
  • Love Octomore but Ardbeg needs to stop proofing down, serve it at cask strength.
  • Octomore is about as peaty as it gets.

  • its really the people that just have only tried a handful of things like macallan and JWB, or stick to a very narrow range like the peatheads that just go for octomore, that are less likely to "get" a really old aged speyside malt.
  • Octomore comes to mind immediately. It's an Islay scotch, like the Ardbeg, and very smoky. Also comes in a cool looking bottle and is generally considered something a bit special. Can be a bit overpriced though.
  • Octomore while intriguing I fear is indeed a bit too over my price range.

Parent context: Octomore is the peatiest ever Reply: On paper, yeah, Octomore has very high ppm. But importantly, ppm is measured before distillation. Bruichladdich's very tall stills along with a number of other factors translate into Octomore being actually quite soft and sweet ime (while still being very high strength of course).
