Obsidian Tasks

Pros

• Tasks is great for project management alongside the kanban plugin. The task plug-in does have a learning curve but once you figure it out it's very powerful.
• I'm trying to create something similar in Obsidian and have been using the Tasks plugin (rather than TaskNotes) as I like being able to add tasks inside any note.
• You can filter using multiple criteria with the tasks plugin. Be it some text, tag, folder, etc.
• If so, try **Tasks** plugin ( [https://publish.obsidian.md/tasks/Introduction](https://publish.obsidian.md/tasks/Introduction) ) . You can then query your tasks (checkboxes) and sort/filter/group them by various fields.
• I’ve done this for the Tasks plugin and added Chinese translations. It works, but the whole process is pretty heavy.

Cons

• While I love the Tasks plugin, unfortunately it does not support nested sub-tasks in this way.
• I tried using the Tasks plugin to replace OmniFocus but the workflow kind of sucked for me; tasks weren't visible enough throughout my day and I wound up giving it up
• I'm actually not using anything more than the tasks plugin right now.
• Since tasknotes uses yaml properties to store task meta data and a tag to identify tasks it improves portability and uses less 'workarounds' then the tasks plugin
• People might use the TaskNotes plugin for larger projects and the Tasks plugin for one-offs, etc.
