Pros
- Check out Oban 14 could be touch expensive but totally worth it.
- I love oban. I would take it over most any others anyday
- The Oban is very approachable and my preference between the two.
- Oban 14 a soft, brighter scotch with a touch of peat and sea spray notes.
- Oban has only the slightest whiff of peat. Laga has substantially more smoke. I like them both and always have a bottle of each.
Cons
- It’s possible that they had an empty Oban14 bottle sitting in the recycling bin for a long time, hence the label issues. Then they needed something to put used cooking oil for disposal and used the empty bottle and sealed with a wine cor...
- I can’t recall Oban 14 being that dark and that shade would suggest it’s been darkened by something. Unless of course they’ve changed it and added caramel to it.
- I had to take the labels off due do mold growing on the back label. I have washed the bottles quite well and hoping its still good to drink?

I’m going to be the only guy to say Oban. I compared both side to side the other day and loved Oban.
riffing off the Glenlivet I’d recommend the Oban 14 or the Dalwhinnie 15.
at every step of the process, this Scotch is designed to be extremely palatable and consistent. Some purists argue that its average at everything (which is true), but it is still extremely tasty.
I've tried and enjoyed so many different single malts but this one has been standing out lately as the perfect balance of citrus zest and smoky finish 🔥
Do you think these 4 whiskies would be a good start to exploring different styles?? lagavulin 16, Oban 14, tamdu 12 and Craigellachie 13
