Pros

• I do have a fat, happy mystery snail in with one of the bettas though. Snails are always good to have and don’t mind the vertical space.
• Pros: /r/parasnailing Karma, generally silly, easy to keep an eye on.
• Adding mystery snail to my office space was the best choice. I love watching it motor around. They're surprisingly fast.
• Dude, if it doesn't need to be a fish, I'd 100% recommend a mystery snail. Absolutely steals the show. Rides around on the leaves, bubbles if you have and air diffuser, sinks your floaters, all in all, super active snail, goes all around...
• My absolute favorite inhabitants are mystery snails, they have so much personality and do this funny thing where they scoot all the way up the tank wall then jump and float to the bottom, so fun to watch!

Cons

• Mystery snails are not a clean up crew and they generate a massive amount of waste- 1 per 10 gallons is the current recommendation for minimum size.
• Snails- all of them need pH that never gets as low as 7.4, gH 10+, kh8+. Some need high flow. Many snails people put in tanks actually require a 10 gallon for one (mysteries and nerites are two examples and people unfortunately kill thes...
• Shrimp and small snails using work fine in community tanks, low bioload and aren't really aggressive with others, although larger snails like nerites and mystery snail have caveats.
• don’t add a mystery snail. They have a huge bio load and some bettas will eat the mystery snails face which is not good.
• Actulally, I was considering a shrimp only setup with some mystery snails, but thought that it wouldn't have much activity going on and I kinda wanted to see some animals swim
