Pros

  • Lost Cities - Super portable (just take the cards anywhere, you don't need the board), easy to learn, quick games, very replayable
  • Any collection with Jaipur and Lost Cities is a winner in my book!
  • Lost Cities and Patchwork are two I would consider. Both very good and simple rules
  • Jaipur and Lost Cities are our favorites. Both are very light on rules but still fun and fairly strategic.
  • Lost cities is a classic

Cons

  • If you like the feeling of please-Reiner-let-me-pass-instead-of-making-this-decision (Lost Cities or Schotten Totten)
  • Lost Cities is basically just a deck of cards. It has a board, but the board is just five spaces, one for each suit, so it's not really necessary.

Scored a Lost Cities at the thrift shop for $3, and when I was in line I realized it’s a European version not in English, but lost cities only has colors and numbers, so no worries since I already knew the rules!

My girlfriend and I usually cycle through a bunch of 2 player gems like Jaipur, Lost Cities, Hive, Fox & The Forest, but for about 3 weeks we've been stuck on Marabunta.

If you like Jaipur and are looking for others in the light, 2-player card game category, try Lost Cities or The Fox in the Forest.
