- They may be rated highly, but as a repair technician, LG and Samsung are the majority of my service calls.
- I would avoid LG and Samsung though. I've read poor comments on both brands in these threads. LG I also have personal experience with a washer/dryer stack that is a PITA.
- Such a weird statement considering LG was rated the most reliable brand last year...
- Avoid Samsung and LG. While some might get high ratings, repairs are expensive, parts are harder to come by and leave Samsung to make electronics, not appliances.

Anyway.. I contacted LG about trouble shooting and they sent me a coupon for 10% off. That didn't sound like much but when I went to price a new one at HD, Lowes and Best Buy I found it to be better than expected. ... LG gave us $150 for the old machine (and carried it off), they supplied the hoses and gave us an extra year of warranty... all on top of the 10%... so we ended up doing better by $250 or so had we gone to a local retailer.

When LG's % of calls under warranty is below 2% and the average for other brands is ~10% that's pretty good.
