• I was recommended the Lenovo Ideapad 1. If anyone has any opinions, it'd be much appreciated.
• A Lenovo IdeaPad 1 or an Acer Aspire 3 with an Intel N4020/N100 processor and 8 GB of RAM would be sufficient and economical for that purpose.

Cons

• 5th Suggestion: 7520U Processor (3rd on list ; try not to come to this last one)
• They’re always complaining that their current laptops “glitch out” and they need new ones. ... I think the new one is an idea pad 1
• I agree with those that say that they don't like the IdeaPad 1. However, in this case, if 16GB will be enough for you and you insist the machine has to be new...then that's actually really good specs for $500 (overpriced for $700).
• Lenovo is fine for the most part, just avoid their low-end stuff (Ideapad 1, 3 and flex models).
• The lenovo ideapad 1 and Acer Aspire 3 are both on SAL's avoid list.
