Pros

  • I've tried the first two- la Mer was definitely better than the Augustine.
  • And it seems like they have so many brands like even the high end stuff like Augustinus Bader Cream, La Mer, Sisley, etc.
  • Sometimes I pat a tiny bit of La Mer on top

Cons

  • I used to think having money meant automatically having amazing skin like if you could afford La Mer and La Prairie your face just unlocks permanent glow mode.
  • There are, of course, expensive brands that are just expensive fluff - Augustinus Bader, La Mer, etc - but if you do a little research you’ll see there are a lot that really do work well, and work in ways that no other brand can imitate.
  • A LOT of the other recommendations I see either contain comedogenic ingredients, are too expensive (Honey Halo, La Mer, etc.) or contain niacinamide (Aestura, Cerave, LRP, etc.)
  • La Mer is literal trash. Most people describe it as 'Nivea in the blue tin with extra fragrance'. Nothing skinceuticals makes it worth it, there are equally good/better alternatives at 1/10th the cost.
