Pros

  • the D3AA and KR1AA have a more efficient driver at outputs above 10 lumens... have a UI advantage, because they have Anduril, which is my favorite UI... have potentially Much higher maximum outputs... have Aux lights.. I happen to like t...
  • Just got this beautiful package from Hank! What an amazing collection of awesome lights.
  • if you want something slightly slimmer, the KR1AA is great too. It’s replaced my D3AA as my daily driver. I really prefer the slimness and slightly wider beam profile overall vs D3AA.
  • Both the KR1AA and D3AA are basically the best 14500/AA sized lights you can buy on the market today. The software is open source plus it has a ton of extra features and customizations... Compared to that Streamlight, it’s a much better...
  • For people wondering: it’s a KR1AA with smooth filed tail cap

Cons

  • I really like the beam of my KR1AA with SFT70 3000k but I have to run it on its highest level just for it to be useable outside.
  • Im interested in Sustainable Outputs that dont cause Thermal Step Down.. for the KR1AA 300 lumens is close to the Sustainable limit.
  • I had a pocket burn from a KR1AA on level 120/150.. that taught me to keep outputs below 600 lumens, since I prefer not to use lockout.
  • I own a bunch of Hank lights, but the KR1AA light is very disappointing, and I feel like I wasted my money. It is collecting dust now.
  • My initial KR1AA review was critical because it turned on in my pocket. Hank now ships KR1AAs with a much better switch and sent me one for testing.

Both the KR1AA and D3AA are basically the best 14500/AA sized lights you can buy on the market today. The software is open source plus it has a ton of extra features and customizations... Compared to that Streamlight, it’s a much better light in basically every way. Brightness, throw, spill, size (smaller and more compact), emitter options, software, features, etc.
