Pros
- Well let me tell you I was so wrong. ... The boss fights are the most fun combat in any game I've ever played. The settlement management is engrossing. ... I'm all in on this game now
- Well let me tell you I was so wrong. ... It's also hilarious and campy and has some fascinating lore and great writing. The art style has grown on me massively and some edgier elements aside this is some of the best artwork I've seen in...
- KDM is my second-favorite game of all time, and SUSD's review convinced me to get the game having never played it before
- KDM is more of a roguelike experience intended to be played many many times. ... It’s a simpler game rules-wise but it does get fairly involved once you get further into the campaign
- Kingdom Death: **Monster** is a board game based on this world that, in the core box, has very little of that horniness.
Cons
- The models in KDM (not the core too much) are male gaze to the most extreme in board games and are imo cringey and embarrassing to look at or show people.
- KDM was good as the first big boss battler but has aged roughly. I find the fights generally pretty simple and un-thematic, the game is easy to break and also without expansions relies on a single item way too much.
- KDM will kill your characters for no reason and i would argue that the campaign is pretty close to impossible to actually ‘win’. The final boss of the base game is just silly.
- KDM sounds very interesting, but also expensive plus I don't know where to store miniatures of the game. Also very expensive with all different expansions and nose changes.
- Kingdom Death: Monster: My partner loves absolutely everything about the game - except that it is far too easy for characters to insta-die or become completely maimed to the point of uselessness due to no fault of our own except rolling...
