KEF Q1 Meta

If you want a better 2.1 setup still in your $1000 budget, take a look at the KEF Q150 for $350/pair or Q1 Meta for $400/pair.

At $399 the Q1 metas are solid for both L/R and one for center. They are much more neutral than the Q150 and they also come with grilles.

Some Bookshelf Speakers to consider: Klipsch RP-500M, ELAC DB5.2, KEF Q1 Meta.

I think for an apartment setup Q1s should be plenty for LR and allows you for an upgrade path to 5.1 in the future where you could get the Q3s or concerto as LR and move the Q1s to the back

Center: KEF Q1 Meta (will upgrade to a true center down the road, a KEF Q6 Meta likely)

Holy smokes! I just bought a pair of q150 for 199 a couple months ago and then about a month ago I bought a pair of q1 meta for 399$!

The q350 are good but i would advise looking at the Q1 meta from that range. They are a bit cheaper and a newer version of tech. ... Paired with a good sub i think the imaging/clarity/sound would better with q1meta x 3 for LCR than three q350

For speakers, at that price, id go for Kef Q1 meta or kef q150 for all 5 speakers. They are significantly better than those polks which i A/B tested when setting up my system.
