KEF LS50

Pros

• Parent context: I’m so glad we’re over the LS50 trend. Those speakers kinda suck Reply: I used to think the LS50's were kinda meh. Decent, but nothing special. Then I hooked up a good amp and instantly got it.
• I also used my LS50's for about 10 years... I decided to try with a better amp though, a Marantz Stereo 70s 75 watt stereo. And you betcha did it lift the sound quality! I know got it, sound stage was much better, detail retrieval got a...
• You might benefit from the KEF LS50 which are coaxial and come in identical LCR.
• I've got LS50s non Meta and two subs running 2.2 and they allow the little KEFs to compete with 3 Way Towers, they sound more relaxed and voluminous with the Subs running
• 3 Kef LS50 (non-meta), were once used as LRC for old home theater and two of them are now used for a dedicated listening room.

Cons

• The obvious competitors are the KEF LS50s. I only had a quick demo of those and didn't really like them: the bass was a bit hollow to my ears.
• I went from LS50's/SVS SB1000 driven by a Marantz Stereo 70S from a Gungnir MB directly from an HTPC. Which sounds really good, nice and warm, very wide sweet spot, very musical. But they also sound small
• I think what you're finding is... The LS50's aren't great speakers.
• Replacing the LS50s would be a huge improvement
