Kasa Smart

Pros

• If you want to go with Wi-Fi, I am a big fan of Kasa and Tapo. They are both TP-Link and use the same Tapo app. I have had the plugs and dimmers going in my house for years.
• I have tested a lot of smart dimmers and switches, and I'm a big fan of Kasa and Tapo.
• Also happy with Kasa, and IFTTT support. I have it set to deflate the inflatable when wind speed is significant, and inflate when the wind calms down, using my weather station for that data.
• Kasa is great. It’s extremely reliable, very fast (quicker than my Zigbee and Z-wave devices), and once configured, can be fully locally controlled via home assistant - even if you block internet access to it at the router.
• but for smart switches Kasa is pretty nice

Cons

• I had both and believe the WiFi switches added to network congestion. Also they were slightly slower to respond than the Lutron.
• The only ones I have seen so far are all hard wired (kiddie) or out of stock (Kasa).
• The Kasa worked for this, but it was a pain to open the app when I’m just walking in to grab something.
• Will Home assistant work with Kasa?
• When I got my first set of matter devices, I just connected them through the KASA (then TAPO) app.
