Pros

  • If anyone is looking for an affordable first projector, I strongly recommend the JMGO N1S and N1S 4K models. The N1S is typically $500, and you lose a bit of brightness as well as 4K, so the extra $200 for the N1S 4K makes a lot more sen...
  • Their $500 N1S is a real value all the time.
  • jmgo n1s?
  • I just got the N1S a couple weeks ago and have been loving it. ... Picture looks great on this thing and sound isn’t too bad.
  • Parent context: CNET labelled JMGO N1S 4k/3d as the best budget pj. I agree. $749 plus free 3d glasses and/or a screen. Reply: I have to disagree. Had mine for a year and it does very well with ambient light, due (i assume) to its patent...

Cons

  • The JMGO is unfortunately too much for my budget now
  • Based on simply comparing the paper specs, the jmgo n1s has no optical zoom so throw ratio is fixed at 1.2 and has less ports - only 1 hdmi and usb, and also heavier so only upside is the stereo speakers.
  • But, they just upgraded their N1S from 1,100 ISO lumens to 1,700 ISO lumens, and raised their price by $150. I would rather have had less light output and the $700 price point. Or better yet, keep their N1S for $500 which was a solid dea...
  • On n1s reds are very very red, kind of uncomfortable.

Had mine for a year and it does very well with ambient light, due (i assume) to its patented MALC triple-laser. Of course, it really pops in a dark room, as with any pj.
