Reddit take

Pros

  • Beautiful and (for me very unique) taste
  • It was a very good tea, mellow and comforting.
  • My wife and I drink a LOT of Wuyi teas, and Wuyi blacks like jin Jun mei and zheng shan xiao zhong are in our standard rotation each week.
  • The only ones I've really liked were Jin Jun Mei's and Feng Qing "Golden Pekoe #100" which is really good imo.
  • most black teas, like tippy Yunnan ones or Jin Jun Mei or Nepalese Jun Chiyabari, have no bitterness to them tbh.

Cons

  • Jin Jun Mei (smells good! tastes good! just not what I, personally, like to nurse for hours on end)

Brewed it according to the label and... honestly? It’s naturally sweet, smooth, rich, like dessert in a cup without being too sugary.

high quality Jin Jun Mei, such as [this one](https://yunnansourcing.us/products/tong-mu-village-chocolatey-jin-jun-mei-black-tea?_pos=2&_sid=814d93d6e&_ss=r)!

Jin Jun Mei, Dianhong, Unsmoked Souchong, Keemun, Bai Lu... some varieties that I'd recommend based on your notes.

Jin Jun Mei (金骏眉) is a top-tier black tea from Wuyishan, Fujian, made entirely from young buds. It’s smooth and naturally sweet, with hints of honey, fruit, and malt. Unlike stronger black teas, it’s delicate and never bitter.
