Java fern

Pros

• Look up "beginner aquarium plants". Some good ones are java ferns.
• some easy low light plants like Anubias and Java fern for cover.
• My tanks are all well planted and thriving, but mostly with 'easy' plants like Anubias, Java Fern, Bucephalandra
• I’ve also planted the tank in a man Amazon sword, Anubia and Java ferns when I got the fish.
• I've found that the easiest are anything Anubias (minus the white ones) and Java ferns. They only need low light, and they don't need fertilizer.

Cons

• Plants already in my tank include Java fern, Java moss, Anubias nana petite, and Echinodorus Red Phoenix
• Many are also not beginner friendly. Java ferns I'm looking at you.
• When I first started I didn't realize some plants had rhizomes which meant they couldn't be buried so for a long time I had my java fern and a few anubias plants with buried rhizomes and couldn't figure out why they were dying.
• In my experience Java fern was really hard - it was the emersed tube form though so maybe it was having trouble transitioning. It all died twice over.
