- Check out Insteon. Its a combination of radio and powerline signaling, which deals well with cement walls.
- Insteon is sole source. Pretty gear, well made, all works together, but one supplier.
- Lutron or Insteon . As an installer for Lutron I’ve never had issues, and as a homeowner installing Insteon I’ve had 0 issues. Both work great with Alexa
Cons
- KNX/Insteon are dual-band RF+powerline. Power line signaling is not good enough to be a primary technology (refrigerators and such are essentially signal jammers) which is why it has failed repeatedly in the market.
- Dimmable lights are a must. I use Insteon and would likely get that dimmer for the standard lights but maybe app is sufficient for fancier color changing ones.
- Have you looked into Insteon?
- oh great...another one-vendor 'standard.' Remember Insteon?
- moved to insteon, but forfeited my inventory with that train wreck.

Insteon? You can control everything from a hub, or have everything peer to peer, or both. An 8 button light switch can directly communicate with 8 different devices both over the power line and over RF. It will also broadcast to a hub and/or to the controlled device directly. If your hub poops out, you can still control everything with the physical switches.
