Pros
- The machine arrived and the very first thing I did was take the plastic out of the portafilter and put a 20g IMS basket in it.
- IMS baskets have more holes than the stock basket so can grind finer 🙂
- Then in time you can get a bottomless portafilter, get a different basket (e.g IMS), perhaps a wedge distribution tool.
- Parent context: Let me know how that IMS basket works out. Reply: So I got my basket and it worked like a charm. The puck was so dry, it didn't even pop out. ... But first impression is very good.
- I had a good experience with an IMS basket.
Cons
- The culprit is, I believe, the 18g basket which I think I didn't have when I pulled that shot. I think it's a way too …
- I have a Profitec go (has a three way solenoid), am using the 14g (20E) IMS basket with 14g of coffee (I’ve gone as high as 15g) and there’s always a small puddle on top.

I put 18g in a 12/14g IMS basket. With the Bambino, I find this helps to makes strong brews without channeling.
IMS is best. Why? Because I just bought it yesterday and don't want to feel I did any mistake ordering it.
IMS flows slower and tends to give a slightly more balanced shot.
sticking with IMS is better if you're on a budget.
