Hyprland

Pros

• There are new options like Hyprland and Niri that are quite lightweight and innovative.
• Hyprland Is a wtm and it doesn't matter what os you use. It is mainly tested with arch but you can install it on anything that supports wayland.
• I want to invest time and effort into learning the inner workings of my desktop environment and customize it to my liking rather than have it do most of the customizing for me.
• I would like to keep Hyprland + DMS, the customizability and Proton Gaming.
• Install Arch Linux on it with hyprland window manager

Cons

• Your problem was never the distro it was Hyprland. Omarchy is a Hyprland setup, and tiling Wayland compositors have basically no touch story: no edge gestures, no auto-rotate, no on-screen keyboard popping up when you tap a text field.
• I am not a fan of Hyprland so realize that.
• I'd steer clear of anything like hyprland though. It can eat up a decent chunk of RAM, and the learning curve is steep.
• i am not sure if its the right for me since i need to do school stuff on my Pc and i am a bit scared of instability of hyprland and cachyos.
• Do not use hyperland or niri (or any niche desktop environment) if you don't even know what distro to use. If you use those DEs, then that means you are accepting the fact that you want to troubleshoot issues for hours.
