Hydrasynth Deluxe

Pros

• the hydra kinda makes up for this in capability though: if you DO spend the time, you can get a huge orchestral like sound out of it that is great for ambient music and it can do stuff the summit can’t.
• the poly touch and ribbon are awesome, and also make this a really really great synth to play live. I use the hydra as my master keyboard as well and I wouldn’t want anything else.
• the poly aftertouch was one of the bigger selling points for me. Adding MPE control to some of my other synths just blew everything else away.
• the versatility really appealed to me as I want to try and avoid dropping large sums on another synth in the near future. This paired with a more user friendly UI meant it beat out the Waldorf Iridium in my book
• If you're considering a Hydrasynth you might want to look at the Deluxe edition. 61 keys, polyphonic aftertouch, bi-timberal, great UI design.

Cons

• Also I don’t like most presets on the hydra whereas those of the peak sound great.
• What I don’t like about the hydra for chord stuff: you can’t divide osc voices over multiple notes. You either stack them or choose poly mode.
• I ... haven’t gelled with the HS sound as much as I would like. If I could have my time over, I would choose Summit, as I prefer the workflow and sound.

• it appears quite easy to do so on the Hydrasynth deluxe. ... It is more complicated to patch though, or rather, it will take a lot more fiddling to make it sound good, searching for the sweet spot.
