Hisense U7
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Hisense U7 is positioned as a high-value "middle ground" television, frequently praised for its brightness, reflection handling, and gaming-centric features like a 120Hz+ refresh rate. While it is often chosen for its competitive pricing—sometimes significantly cheaper than TCL equivalents—some users note it lacks the peak brightness of high-end Samsung models or the perfect contrast of premium OLEDs.
Pros
- Competitive pricing often lower than TCL equivalents
- Strong gaming features including 120Hz+ refresh rate
- High brightness and effective reflection handling
- Natural-looking picture quality compared to some rivals
- Significant performance jump over the U6 series
Cons
- Peak brightness may lag behind some high-end Samsung models
- Visual gap is noticeable when compared directly to premium OLEDs
- Subjective picture quality may not impress all users
Caveats
- Reliability preferences sometimes lead users toward TCL despite the U7's price advantage
- Specific technical details like local dimming zone counts are occasionally questioned by potential buyers
Best for
- Gamers needing high refresh rates on a budget
- Bright rooms where reflection handling is a priority
- Casual sports and mixed media viewing
Avoid if
- You are looking for OLED-level black levels and contrast
- You require the absolute highest peak brightness on the market
- You prioritize brand reliability over raw value-for-money

I'd say go for the U7. the Hisense's picture quality is (subjectively), the most natural looking out of the two TVs.
I got the 65 Q7MK from BB but am returning it for the larger 75 Hisense U7. U7 is almost 300 less than the 75 TCl.
What about the 75 inch Hisense U7–$999 at BestBuy now looking for price to maybe go down?
Hisense U7 for about half the price or their U8 for a little less. Not sure why some ppl on this forum dislike them but they have putting out some of the best tvs on the market and at the most competitive pricing.
My 2 choices were the 98" QM7K or the 100" Hisense U7 Im going with the Hisense. No question.
The s95f also doesn't have crazy brightness but comparing it to the Hisense u7, it's gets brighter even with peak brightness turned off on the Samsung
I'm looking at Hisense u7 that actually looks like the Sony x900h in picture quality.
I'm looking at the Hisense U7 for its 120Hz+ refresh rate and gaming features.
But for casual viewing, sports, and gaming, the U7 is brilliant and the money you save is significant.
The U7 is a great middle ground – still very bright with good reflection handling, saving you money over the U8. The jump from U6 to U7/U8 in brightness and dimming is massive and absolutely worth it.
