I wouldn't worry about possible rain at the base of Heavenly. Not that it doesn't happen (it'll happen this weekend all the way up to 9000ft), but at Heavenly you won't be hanging at the base. It's not a usual thing like, say, Mt Hood resorts.

Great view of Nevada from there. They held snow well, but I think that was because the mountain is entirely full of Jerry’s.
