Guppy grass

Pros

• My 1 gallon shrimp tank has micro sword, Christmas moss, guppy grass, anubias, and some salvinia.
• Anacharis, Pearl weed, val, guppy grass and water sprite grow really fast, is very easy to propagate and will take over the tank if you let it.

• Plants like Hornwort and Guppy grass can eliminate the chemical that could cause the new tank syndrome.
• guppy grass as a floater might also be good to create a nice lil canopy and shade the lower part of the tank

Cons

• Guppy grass, only issue is it grows EXTREMELY quickly once rooted and can require quite a bit of trimming to keep under control. But it looks really nice if you like an overgrown jungle lol.
• In the past I have always failed to grow a single aquatic plant. Floaters, duck weed, guppy grass, hornwort. Doesn’t matter. I killed it.
• I find guppy grass to break easily and to be messy.
• Guppy grass doesn't grow like val at all, it's an irreglar floating clump. It's a lot more like hornwort, but even less likely to grow up from the bottom as stalks.
• I love guppy grass but it doesn’t have roots. It gets all wadded into a big clump. I would not try to get it to behave like a background plant even though it doesn’t disintegrate like hornwort.
