gripe water

Pros

• Gripe water is what we had at home so we kinda just tried it to help with the gas pain and it happened to help.
• we gave her just a tiny bit of Gripe water (about half the recommended dose even for her size) and at least the pain from the gas subsided!
• A couple of new things I did for the last two days was introduce gripe water because his sleep habits are wacky right now
• We didn’t have a colic-y baby but gripe water was a life saver for those moments we needed it.
• I had a colicky baby and we had to keep a back up bottle in the house because it helped so much. Great stuff, doesn’t work for everyone though.

Cons

• Gripe water is nonsense. It’s unsupported by evidence and science. It’s the equivalent of an old wive’s tale.
• And also gripe water isn’t the best, in my opinion!
• Simethicone is basically baby gas drops. It's very easy to find in the US along with "gripe water" but that never worked with either of my kids.
• We’ve tried everything multiple pediatricians, gas drops, cutting dairy and other allergens, milk thickener, formula (made things a lot worse so went back to breast milk), Windi, gripe water, even a chiropractor. Nothing has worked.
