Google Pixel 10 Pro
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Google Pixel 10 Pro is frequently described as the 'iPhone of Androids' due to its smooth, clean software experience and industry-leading 7-year update commitment. While it excels in still photography—particularly night shots—and features a highly color-accurate display, it is polarizing due to its hardware efficiency. Users often praise the UI and GrapheneOS compatibility but criticize the Tensor chip for trailing behind Snapdragon and Apple Silicon in both raw performance and battery endurance.
Pros
- Industry-leading 7 years of OS updates and quick software deployment.
- Excellent still photography and color-calibrated OLED displays.
- Clean, 'pure' Android software experience with smooth UI navigation.
- Strong speaker quality on the Pro and XL models.
- Compatible with privacy-focused software like GrapheneOS.
Cons
- Tensor chip is significantly less efficient than Snapdragon 8 Elite or Apple Silicon rivals.
- Battery life is a common pain point, especially during demanding tasks or compared to the Galaxy S25.
- The device is noted as bulky and heavy, making one-handed use difficult for some.
- Video recording quality is perceived to lag behind competitors.
- Reports of buggy notifications and overheating during intensive use.
Caveats
- The battery efficiency gap persists even when using battery saver mode.
- Some users report thick bezels compared to other flagship models in the same generation.
- Hardware value proposition is viewed as poor by some unless purchased at a significant discount.
Best for
- Users who prioritize software longevity and a clean UI.
- Still photography enthusiasts who prefer natural color processing.
- Privacy-conscious users looking for a GrapheneOS-compatible flagship.
Avoid if
- You are a heavy mobile gamer or perform demanding tasks frequently.
- You require the absolute best battery life for long-duration activities like hiking.
- You prefer small, lightweight devices for easy one-handed operation.

Parent context: I'm enjoying Pixel 10 Pro so far, on paper it's not as powerful as Galaxy flagships, but tbh I never noticed it just using it normally Reply: Yeah, really like that phone - plus can install grapheneOS on it!
Since hardware-wise, the Pixel 10 Pro is a really poor value proposition. The chip is horribly inefficient so battery life (despite the slightly larger battery) is considerably worse than the 17 Pro. Camera sensors are quite mediocre performers (though Pixel has good processing, leading to great stills anyway), but video recording still sucks on Android in general. The display on the P10 Pro is very color accurate in HDR and has a high peak-brightness, but also some of the thickest bezels this year (for those that care). Performance overall is unexceptional
Parent context: What are you using now? And what are you currently wanting to change too? Reply: Pixel 10 Pro... should have got the 9a
Parent context: I just got a new Pixel 10 Pro XL...I love it..I got it for $ 675.00,which is half price...the 11s are getting ready to come out. Reply: In Canada the same phone is on sale for 1000$ and given the state of our currency we consider it a deal...
Probably galaxy s25 or the pixel 10 pro size wise.
pixel 10 pro since it has better cameras
but anyways, get a pixel 10 pro
The pixel 10 pro seems like a contender, but it also seems overpriced (even with black friday sales) for what it is. In many reviews, its photos also are not as good compared to other phones.
I have to agree that after using my friends Pixel 10 Pro, I actually liked it a lot.
Don't go for the base models, get the older pros like the pixel 10 pro, it has better cameras then all of this phones and is like $700
