Gillette Tech Razor

Pros

• I love the razor! Its my first safety razor and I think I picked well for a first. Its fantastic for working on proper technique as its fairly mild.
• I'd recommend a vintage Gillette Tech. I've got one (with a short fat handle) and I love it; I don't think it's ever bit me.
• At least for the razor, seconding getting a Gillette Tech. Very affordable (at or around $20) and you can find them at local antique stores, or readily available online. Lovely mild shave, trusted by many for decades.
• Although Gillette Techs are fantastic razors, I'm not sure if they'd make a good first razor because you have to go through the hassle of finding one that's in reasonably good condition from a reputable seller.
• It's a great razor. I believe that 20 million were made. Pair it up with a feather blade and have yourself a $300 razor shave.

Cons

• Tech is too mild for my liking. I prefer a lot more blade exposure, because the feedback is so valuable to adjust technique to get the best shave possible. Still, appreciate the cool factor and the mildness of the Tech.
• The shaves are generally very good and comfortable, although if I leave the hair too long between shaving then it clogs very easily and I need to partially open it up to clear on each pass. ... Even then, there's something about the clos...
• The Tech does feel like a step back after getting used to the Blackbird.
