Pros

  • Gerber!
  • Its like 20 bucks for a pack of three gerbers and the air ranger is one
  • This Gerber is nice it ran about $40.00. I bought one for my son he loves it he said it was very sharp out of the box
  • I wouldn't class Gerber as a gas station knife. I had a really nice one in my camping kit for years. That knife was such a workhorse, someone actually stole it from my kit.
  • We get beech nut and Gerber. My 8 month old loves the vegetable ones.

Cons

  • Parent context: How do you like the Gerber? I like the straight blade look and the wood compliments the colors so well Reply: It's okay for a $30 knife! Surprisingly sharp out of the box, it was stiff to the point of being unusable so I...
  • You bought a Gerber or a Buck and called it a day.
  • the knife people have been using to cut the tubing when they have no personal knife is a Gerber we keep in our kit, which is the same size as mine but is cared for poorly and is usually dull
  • Some budget knives are good, great even, but Gerbers tend to fall short.
  • Parent context: Agreed. Gerber pre-2000 can be quality. Gerber post-2000 is trash Reply: Once I saw a Gerber, I was impressed, no gas station around me sells decent quality knives like them.

Surprisingly sharp out of the box, it was stiff to the point of being unusable so I loosened up the frame a tad and it's pretty smooth now. While it does look really slick, it does feel kind of cheap to hold. Nice slim profile but yeah just feels flimsy. Overall happy with it, good beater knife at work.
