Gatewood Cape

Pros

• The Gatewood Cape is my favorite because I can leave rain gear home if I’m not expecting rain.
• I recently made my own hexamid in similar shape to the gatewood cape. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I think im gonna like it. 8oz and plenty of space for me being under 6ft.
• The OG design, the Gatewood Cape with mesh is ~€138 cheaper on the manufacturer website.

• This was my first longer trip with the gatewood cape, I liked it, I felt it was easy to find enough space to pitch it.

Cons

• I’ve taken the Cape into the high country a few times, but in my opinion, the fabric is just too thin for heavy storms and high winds. I wouldn't want to be caught in it during serious weather above the tree line.
• I love my Gatewood Cape but I haven't used it above 20mph winds. Can the cape handle high winds, even if not particularly peacefully?
• Great as it is, the Gatewood Cape is just a terrible idea for UK use!
